5Pays for itself  Nov 02, 2009 By Scott Chambers
This filter drops right in to the original air filter compartment with no modifications. I detected no noise increase from the air intake. Most aftermarket cold air intakes allow annoying air hissing sound through. Not this filter. Did I notice a neck jerking power increase? No, but that's not why I purchased it. Being a permanent filter, it means I save by not having to replace it every year in a dusty Arizona climate. I am very pleased with this filter.

5Awesome air filter  Aug 10, 2011 By Andrew Kim
As a fan of K&N air filter, I bought this filter for my 2009 Acura TL. Easy to install and no worry about spending more money on air filter again(As long as I own this car)! Great product and I recommend to anyone. Amazon price was cheaper than K&N official website.

4I've always liked K&N, Amazon makes it a better buying experience.  Mar 20, 2011 By David Meadows
I have had several K&Ns over the years in my various cars. Since it was about time to replace the filter in my 2009 Accord V6 EX-L, I went to Autozone to see if they had my size. Of course not. Trusty Amazon as almost always comes through. I was getting 27-28 mpg before adding the filter and on my first trip afterwards (only trip afterwards so far) got between 28.6 (Tennessee mountains) and 30.8 (I-10 flats). I was very pleased since that was better than my old Focus. So is it worth it? As a long term investment and just based on fuel economy yes. Maintenance wise, I like not having to plan replacing my filter every year. Just a periodic check to wipe off the bugs if there. Yes there is also the having to clean the filter ever so often which I always seem to enjoy. Something about seeing the filter turn red again after oiling. Also, yes it does allow increased air flow so there is a slight increase in horsepower over paper. If you go by the literature that comes with the filter, here is about a 20% increase in air flow. Most of the time you wouldn't recognize it, but give the throttle a punch and there is a definite growl not there previously on my car.

Anyway, Amazon is amazing in that they have almost everything I could possibly need or want. From Water bottles, coffee makers, roof racks to air and cabin filters. I am very pleased with the K&N filter and Amazon's role in getting it to me.

5Great product for $50. It is a must for a car or truck  Sep 22, 2011 By Jedi4knight
I believe K&N filter is the way to go on every car or truck out there. It is so good that it should come as OEM product from the factory. Why manufacturer use paper pleat filter is beyond me but I can easily replace it for around $50.

Installation: It is as simple as removing captive screws on the air cleaner box and replace it. It is pre-oiled and ready to go so drop it in five minutes or less.

Cleaning: I clean every two years since that is about 30-40k mile range. You can go up to 50k but why push it. Frequent cleaning is not recommended since slightly dirty cotton pleat traps the particles better than the fresh oiled filter. Cleaning is easy with tap water, cleaning agent, and soft brush. Make sure cleaning agent is soaked for ten minutes before flushing it with tap water from top to bottom. Let it air dry for few hours (outside) or overnight (inside) before re-oiling again from the bottom side only.

Conclusion: Remove yearly and use brush to remove heavy build up area if you are not wet cleaning the filter. Make sure air cleaner box is clean before installing the filter again and the filter is properly seated before closing the filter housing. Worry free, great filtration rate and particle retention, easier breathing for the engine, and better fuel economy as well. Best of all, it will last for a life time of your car for less than $100.

3Oddly no perceived difference for 2010 Acura TL  Jul 27, 2011 By Richard Collette
On my 2001 Maxima, and our 2001 Durango, the difference in low end torque was noticeable. On my 2010 Acura TL with 5k miles, I noticed no difference in low end torque or in measured fuel economy. I tend to drive the TL in the low rpm range (3500 to maybe 4k rpm max) so there could be an increase in max horsepower that I just have not experience because I do not rev the motor up at the peak horsepower rpm range.
